Step 1 – Complete your online registration as soon as possible

If you hold an Unconditional Firm (U/F) offer, a registrationÌýinvitation will be sent to the email address you have used throughout your application process. This email will be sent anytime from Tuesday 20 August 2024. There is nothing you need to do until you recieve this email invitation.

It is important that you complete your registration before the start of your course,Ìýto ensure you can access everything you need to begin yourÌýstudies or research. The start date for most students is Monday 23 September 2024.Ìý Ìý

Why isÌýonlineÌýregistrationÌýso important?ÌýÌýÌý

You will be given:ÌýÌý

  • Access to yourÌýÉ«»¨Ìà student email address.ÌýÌý
  • Access toÌýBrightspace.ÌýÉ«»¨ÌÃ’s virtual learning environment (VLE), which will be essential to you throughout your time as a É«»¨Ìà student.

Registration only takes 20-30 minutes to complete and involves:ÌýÌý

  • Checking that your contact and course information are correctÌýÌýÌý
  • Telling us how you intend to pay for your tuition fees (make sure you have all yourÌýdocuments regarding any funding supportÌýbefore you start)Ìý Ìý
  • Answering a few questions about when you plan to arrive in Bournemouth. This information will be used to support your arrivalÌýÌý
  • Reading and signing up to ourÌý2024/25Ìýversion of the É«»¨Ìà Student Agreement. You can read more about this below.

Helpful tipÌýÌý

When logging into myHub, you'll need to use the same details you have been using throughout your É«»¨Ìà application. Your username starts with a letter followed by several numbers, for example s1234567 and you can reset your password on the login page if needed. If you have forgotton your username, please contact AskÉ«»¨Ìà who will be able to assist you.

Once logged in you will need to look for the 'My registration' button in the pink header bar.Ìý

Student Agreement, É«»¨Ìà regulations and policies

When you register online, you will be asked to read, and sign up to, the 2024/25Ìýversion of the É«»¨Ìà Student Agreement. A copy of the É«»¨Ìà Student Agreement 2024/25Ìýwas provided in your offer letterÌýbutÌýthere may haveÌýbeen updatesÌýsince then. Please take the time to readÌýthe new versionÌý- a summary of any changes will also be available for you.ÌýÌý

You can access and download both the current and archived versions of the Student Agreement, alongside all our policies and procedures, on ourÌýimportant information webpages.Ìý

Step 2 - Register for Multi-Factor Authentication

To protect your É«»¨Ìà student account, we use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for added security. This means in addition to your username and password,Ìýyou will sometimes be required to complete an additional login step.

To registerÌýfor MFA, you need to:

  • Visit
  • Sign in with your É«»¨Ìà student email address (e.g. [email protected]) and password
  • Follow the on screen instructions and enter your mobile number and a personal email address (not your É«»¨Ìà email).
  • Visit and change your preferred method of authentication to the Microsoft Authenticator App.ÌýSelect ‘Add sign-in method’ chose Authenticator app and follow the on-screen instructions.ÌýThis is the easiest and our recommended method of authentication at É«»¨ÌÃ.Ìý(If you don’t have a smart phone you should select text to your mobile phone or email as your preferred method of authentication).

The above steps will also register you for our Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) tool.ÌýYou can use this tool to reset your password should you forget this in the future. Find out more about Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on our website.

Step 3 – Log in to Brightspace and email

Once you have registered for Multi-Factor Authentication, you can access all the É«»¨Ìà systems you need to support your learning or research including:Ìý

Brightspace

Our virtual learning environmentÌý(VLE) at É«»¨Ìà is essential to you throughout your degree at É«»¨ÌÃ. On Brightspace you will find:

  • A welcome and introduction to your faculty
  • General course information (including a basic course reading list)
  • Pre-arrival activities that youÌýneed to complete before your induction week begins
  • Information about your induction week
  • ME@É«»¨Ìà for information about our support services.

While at É«»¨Ìà you will need to check Brightspace regularly for new posts or announcements from your faculty and courseÌýteams.

É«»¨Ìà email account

Once you start your course, we will noÌýlonger contact you using your personal email address. Your É«»¨Ìà email will be one of our main ways of communicating with you whilst you are at É«»¨ÌÃ. Please check this regularly from now on.

Step 4 – Complete your enrolment

After you have completedÌýyour online registration and paid your tuition fees (or agreed a payment plan), we will send you an email with instructions on how to enrol forÌýyour course. The deadline for completing your enrolment is Monday 23 SeptemberÌý2024, but we recommend you enrol as soon as possible.ÌýIf you don't enrol by this date, you might not be able to start your studies or research.ÌýWhen you complete your enrolment, you will officially become a É«»¨Ìà student.

To complete your enrolment, you will need the following documents:

  • Proof of your identity
    Photo ID such as a passport or driving licence
  • Educational qualifications
    Original certificates for the qualifications required for your course (e.g.ÌýBTEC, A-level, degree, English language qualification) and official translations if not originally in English
  • NHS or HPC professional courseÌýcertificates
    Original Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) certificate.

Please also check your registration email, which will include any additional requirements linked to your offer.Ìý

Additional requirements for international students

If you require a visa to study in the UK, you willÌýbe asked to finalise your enrolmentÌýat an in-person international document checkÌýduring theÌýfirst few weeks of your course at É«»¨ÌÃ. Your access to your course will not be affected by this. However, it will mean that you will not be able to complete step 4 and 5 until you have attended yourÌýsession. More information will be shared with you when you go through your enrolment on myHub. Please make sure to bring the appropriate documents to your international document check, as these will be needed to evidence your immgration and finalise your enrolment at É«»¨ÌÃ. You will need:

  • Your passport (only your passport can be accepted as proof of identify). In addition you will needÌýyour Student visa sticker (stamped by UK Immigration), your Biometric Residence Permit (if you have one) and any previous visas for the UK and all other relevant immigration documents.

Enrolling on your course willÌýgive you access to:

  • The process to kickÌýstartÌýyour student loan to help ensure it's ready for the start of term (UK only)
  • Request aÌýÌýto confirm your student status so you can open a bank account in the UK (international only)
  • Request aÌýÌýto help you find part-time work in the UK (international only)
  • Information onÌýhowÌýto collect your student ID card. This will enable you to:
    • Access certain buildings on campusÌý
    • Borrow library booksÌý
    • Get discounts in shops and on buses etc
    • Sit exams as part of your course
    • Obtain council tax exemption, student status/confirmation of term dates letter.Ìý

Step 5 – Explore Brightspace to view detailed unit information

Approximately a week before your official course start date, more unit information will be available on Brightspace if you have completed your enrolment.Ìý

If you are an international student, please note this information will only be available after attending your in-personÌýinternational document check for your course. Information about this event is shared with you when completing your enrolment as far as possible.
