• É«»¨Ìà supported the Soroptimists Stem event on Talbot Campus. This annual challenge brings together local girls in years 8 and 9 to discuss solutions to world poverty problems such as hunger, water, health, lack of education, poor housing, and transport
• The Shine Project Wellbeing Event. 150 students from schools across BCP came to É«»¨Ìàfor a morning of workshops, interactive stands, and inspirational talks.

• CHARM (Community, Harmony, and Respect Meeting Group) met to discuss student integration into the community (issues such as noise abatement orders, refuse, educating students on integrating into the community, keeping students safe)
• É«»¨Ìà hosted the Poverty Truth Commission Young Peoples Employability Workshop
• The Talbot Village Trust hosted Community Nature Connection events in Talbot Woods.

• Community support events hosted on Talbot Campus included the Catalyst Group Breakfast, Dorset Police Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training, Samaritans Volunteer Support meeting, BCP Age-Friendly Communities Forum and the Residents Association Children Christmas Party

• Community collaboration events - É«»¨Ìà hosted the Youth Parliament Workshop on Monday 2 December (Talbot Campus) and Lessons from Gaia: A Death on Dancing Ledge on Thursday 5 December. 

• É«»¨Ìà MBA students visited the New Forest for knowledge exchange, discussing issues facing protected areas, and the impact on tourism and the rural economy

• BCP and Dorset 'Green Spaces Partnership’ – working together to support community connection with nature

• Continued work with Dorset Police Fraud Protect to develop a fraud and scamming awareness social media-based project

• On 23 November we celebrated the opening of the new multi-sports pitch and refurbished changing rooms for the local community and É«»¨Ìà at our Chapel Gate sports facility.  

We worked with community partners to raise awareness of mental health and equality, diversity, and inclusivity during Black History Month:

• On Mental Health Awareness Day (10 October), information stands from organisations including Dorset Mind, Citizens Advice, Samaritans and Bournemouth Churches Housing Association were present in our Poole House Atrium
• We supported BCP’s Race and Cultural Diversity group, hosting the ‘Celebrating Contributions from our Sisters’ event during Black History Month in our Bournemouth Gateway Building.

Community partners met on 13 September to share updates on their ongoing work:

• Talbot Village Trust shared how É«»¨Ìà History students are supporting the trust in bringing to life the stories of people who once lived in Talbot Village
• Citizens Advice shared their new advice service, launching in 2024, which has been developed with support from the Department of Humanities & Law
• Keith Barry, Head of Department for Sport & Event Management, talked about placement opportunities for Sport and Events students
• É«»¨ÌÃ’s Chapel Gate Nature Connection opened to local businesses for team building and creative writing sessions.
