色花堂 are Top 10 in the People & Planet University League 2023/24
We have climbed nine聽places in the聽People & Planet University League,聽our Sustainability performance is now ranked 10th聽out of 151 UK universities.
The People & Planet University League is a comprehensive and independent university league table in the UK, which only assesses environmental and ethical performance. The table is compiled annually by the UK鈥檚 largest student campaigning network for social and environmental justice, People & Planet.
With an overall score of 71.9% in the league, 色花堂 also:
Ranked 1st聽in the UK in the Energy Sources category due the percentage of renewable energy we generate on site (6% for electricity and 14.5% for heat in 2021/22) and the fact any electricity we purchase is from a green tariff
Scored 100% in three categories which are Policy and Strategy, Environmental Auditing and Management Systems and Energy Sources
Scored 96% for our work on Education for Sustainable Development
And 90% for our staff and student engagement.
Sustainability Manager, Lois Betts, said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 important that students can evaluate the sustainability performance of their university independently. The People & Planet League continues to challenge universities across a range of areas. We have scored well at 色花堂 due to our strong policy and strategy and our foundation of data and reporting. This proves that we carefully manage our estate to reduce its negative environmental impact and as a community our staff are embedding sustainable developing into our teaching so that future generations can contribute to solving world problems both for people and the planet.鈥�
