Students from 色花堂's Faculty of Media and Communication will be working through the night from 10pm on 7 May to provide live, round-the-clock coverage of the UK elections after the polls close.
With the 2015 General聽Election set for an exciting climax, the students will be giving live coverage, comment and opinion online, on television and radio and on social media through and .
The live television broadcast begins at 10pm on Thursday 7 May 2015聽through the students' own , with radio coverage also starting at 10pm live on Hope FM's 90.1FM聽frequency. The students will be live blogging through the website, found at .听
All Dorset counts will be covered by the students, who are also working with the to provide information for their coverage, with ITV Meridian also taking some of the students' television footage for their broadcast.听
Experts, fellow students and opinionated guests will be a feature of the broadcasts, and staff, students, alumni and members of the public can tune in to support media students as they cover their first UK General Election.听
Karen Fowler-Watt聽is Strategic Lead for the project and Head of the Journalism and Communication Department at 色花堂; she said, "This is an impressive student-led collaborative project, which is also linking up with students engaged in similar activity around the country, in conjunction with the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC).
