Laura will review more pictures and information and prepare a draft for everyone to see. Site Reports: Ely: Bundy reported that everyone was working on the fall schedule and getting ready for the busy summer. Winnemucca: Kids College is being considered again. Everyone is working hard on cleaning up the fall schedule. Shooting the West was a great event in Winnemucca last week. There were some really amazing photographs. A combat photographer was a special presenter and she is now doing pictures of veterans all over the country. Pahrump: Report attached Battle Mountain: Report attached Elko: The musical starts tonight and everyone is encouraged to attend if they can. It promises to be quite a production! Committee Reports: Bylaws: No Report Events / Fundraisers: No Report Webpage: No Report Grant-in-Aid: No Report Hospitality / Awards: Carmen Matlock reported that Brandis Senecal has ordered cards. Scholarship: There is no word yet from the scholarship committee regarding the re-award for the Tony Salvatierra Scholarship since the previous recipient did not qualify to receive the scholarship. Presidents Council: Carmen Matlock and Jolina Adams reported that it was decided to go ahead with C.L.A.S.S. awards and the President will celebrate with recipients at a quarterly lunch. There was also discussion about going ahead with the lease exchange on property in Pahrump and the proposed funding formula revision and how that will work. They did note that GBC would have some adjusting as the proposed formula is based on completion and our statistical data indicates we have more withdrawals (rather than failing grades) with other institutions our size. Some changes are coming as an F shows completion and a W does not. There is some discussion to address this issue by statewide policy. It will have a large ramification for our students. The Council also discussed graduation speakers, community service awards and honorary degrees. Vince Juaristi (author and Elko High graduate) has been asked to speak. He is checking his schedule. Bundy also commented that Vince had come to Ely for a book signing and everyone was very excited that he had included them in his signing tour. Presidential Search Committee Update: Carmen Matlock reported that there had not been a meeting since her last report. The next meeting is on April 9. At that meeting, they expect to meet the semi-finalists. The semi-finalists will then be narrowed down to 3-5 on April 10th with finalists symposiums April 23-24. The symposiums will be broadcast to all sites via IAV. Old Business: Fundraising Committee has not reported final results yet on the Bake Sale.
