Presidents Council Report: Jolina stated that the last two Presidents Council Meetings have been cancelled. Jolina and Shirley are to attend the meeting on October 20, 2009. Shirley said the Presidents Council is suppose to meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. New Business: Shirley suggested that the entire Classified Council recognize Susanna Dorr for all her assistance she has given to the Council on the web page. Renae suggested submitting her name under Class Awards. Jolina agreed that Susanna needs to be recognized for her efforts but stated that Class Card is a drawing among other nominees. It was agreed to send Susanna a thank you card for her exemplary work from the entire Classified staff. . Shirley reported the survey results of why meeting attendance is so low. Twelve persons marked that they were too busy to attend. Cynthia commented that she interpreted that to mean that their workload is too much or they are not being permitted to attend by their supervisors. Pat mentioned that at one time an individual tried to dissolve Classified Council and was not permitted to do so because of GBCs accreditation. Shirley and Jolina will make a presentation at the next Presidents Council meeting to gain support for better attendance at Council meeti ngs. Pat inquired if we can confirm that Classified Council is a part of GBCs accreditation. Shirley stated that there are presently 81 classified employees. Fundraiser Ideas: The Chili Cook Off was discussed as possibly being held in January. Pat commented how much work is involved and it could be scheduled if there were sufficient volunteers to help. The Chili Cook Off was originally held to raise funds for the Tony Salvatierra Scholarship. The Council is still in need of Chairpersons for Events and Fundraisers. Anyone wishing to volunteer for an event or fundraiser does not need to be a classified employee. Cynthia suggested putting fundraisers on hold for the time being due to lack of interest and volunteers. Susan French reported that she works with their SGA to let the students know how much they are appreciated. Before test week, they filled approximately 150 coffee mugs with coffee beans and candies for the students. Susan will present the next Did You Know topic at the next meeting on how to coordinate with your SGA Senators to show student appreciation. It was discussed that if the Council is to ask for any donations from the community (i.e. candy, etc), that it must go through the Foundation Office. Shirley reiterated that Classified Council exists to represent classified staffs interests and rights at GBC and shall serve as an advisory group. GBC was started in 1967 and a question was asked if classified staff existed in 1967. Cynthia reported that Joe Micke completed a 26 mile marathon in Hawaii last September. She wanted to recognize his accomplishment. Pat will ask Brandis to send a card to him from the Council. Cynthia mentioned the cookie and ornament exchanges will be held in December. Jolina reminded everyone not to forget Boss Day on October 16th. The meeting was adjourned at 3:11 pm. #$5;N\l E O c n p | E F w x ? @ A Q Ƽճշٯ쯨ݯٯٞ{qh%*hY\5>* h8Eh=qh8h=q h8E5>*h8Ehy hW 5h%*hW 5>* hOh?hOh? h?5h%*h?5>*h{b h{b 5 h{b h{b hbJh{b h{b 5 hbJ5 hR]5 hO5 h%*5h?5CJ aJ ,#$P E F w x @ A S x 9:QRgd?m$$a$gd? $a$gd?m$$a$gdIQ e x } / C 68:W9PQRSb#&.&'^Ŀܷܨ܎~~z~v~hIh,hTmhhMUhyh; hNo5>*hNoh8V h=qh8VhR h=q5>*h%*hm+hy hy5h%*hy5>* hY\hY\ h8h7Oh=q hm+hm+ hm+5>*hNohm+5hY\ hY\5.RS''bgd?gd?m$^` h?h?h?h%*hTmhTmhTmH*21h:p:r/ =!"#$% j 666666666vvvvvvvvv666666>6666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666hH6666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666662 0@P`p2( 0@P`p 0@P`p 0@P`p 0@P`p 0@P`p 0@P`p8XV~ OJPJQJ_HmH nH sH tH J`J :rNormal dCJ_HaJmH sH tH DA D Default Paragraph FontRiR 0 Table Normal4 l4a (k ( 0No List 6U6 `z0 Hyperlink >*B*phPK![Content_Types].xmlj0Eжr(΢Iw},-j4 wP-t#bΙ{UTU^hd}㨫)*1P' ^W0)T9<l#$yi};~@(Hu* Dנz/0ǰ $ X3aZ,D0j~3߶b~i>3\`?/[G\!-Rk.sԻ..a濭?PK!֧6 _rels/.relsj0 }Q%v/C/}(h"O = C?hv=Ʌ%[xp{۵_Pѣ<1H0ORBdJE4b$q_6LR7`0̞O,En7Lib/SeеPK!kytheme/theme/themeManager.xml M @}w7c(EbˮCAǠҟ7՛K Y, e.|,H,lxɴIsQ}#Ր ֵ+!,^$j=GW)E+& 8PK!Ptheme/theme/theme1.xmlYOo6w toc'vuر-MniP@I}úama[إ4:lЯGRX^6؊>$ !)O^rC$y@/yH*񄴽)޵߻UDb`}"qۋJחX^)I`nEp)liV[]1M<OP6r=zgbIguSebORD۫qu gZo~ٺlAplxpT0+[}`jzAV2Fi@qv֬5\|ʜ̭NleXdsjcs7f W+Ն7`g ȘJj|h(KD- dXiJ؇(x$( :;˹!
