Preliminary results have been quite positive. Most attendees were impressed with our campus. The video about the history of community colleges was very popular, and an idea was to copy the video to all of the presidents and suggest it be put into their library. Dr. Elliott feels that it is important to establish an oral history collection on the history of community colleges, and will discuss it further with Dr. Chris Chairsell. LCB Tour May 12 -14, 2004 - Mr. Diekhans reported on the preliminary schedule for the LCB tour. The LCB will be touring the Elko, Ely, and Winnemucca campuses. Dr. Daniels has examined a preliminary policy regarding the use of palms, laptops, and cellphones, and whether a person is liable should the equipment be lost while they have it checked out. . He recommended that if a person took ordinary care, and was not reckless, then the college would pay to have it replaced. He will get a recommendation from the Faculty Senate and bring the recommendation back to Presidents Council. Dr. Daniels informed Presidents Council that UNR is in the process of making changes to their Math 120. The other institutions are all protesting because the Math 120 would only transfer as an elective and not fulfill the math requirement.
