She reported that Pat Anderson was confirmed as senate vice chair. Faculty Senate approved the Adjunct Faculty Evaluation form. The Student Evaluation form was put on hold until fall. Linda reported that there has been discussions about the duties of department chairs and committee chairs. Departments are being moved closer together so there will be a great deal of office moves this summer. Please give enough time to plan office moves. An office move requires input from Buildings & Grounds, Jeff Cox, and Dorinda Friez. Mike McFarlane said it was a good idea to create the Nye County Transition committee. There is always positive input and good suggestions from more than one perspective. The meetings seem to have alleviated peoples fear of the unknown. Carl Diekhans and/or Lucina Lewis will be conducting video meetings to present Human Resources information to the employees at the Pahrump Valley Center. PVC employees have some concerns about their direct deposit. They will continue with the same insurance. Danny Gonzales reported he is working with faculty on in-service activities. Kevin Laxalt will be part of a panel that focuses on classroom teaching. There are some professional development funds to purchase some books called The Courage to Teach. Distance Education will conduct WebCt classes. We are looking at some software that will help in identifying plagiarism. We could invite the new SGA President Carrie Rowley to present a slideshow on her trip to Africa. We are also planning to have a progressive lunch again. (,-.456 6 G H > B ` !
